Juice Robinson vs. Andrade El Idolo

Early in the match, Colton and Austin Gunn got involved, beating El Idolo outside the ring while Juice distracted the ref. This gave Juice the advantage for the early part of the match. He worked the back of Andrade throughout the early portion of the match. Both Gunn brothers interjected at points when the ref wasn’t paying attention.

After the first commercial break, Andrade went for his double moonsault, but Juide countered by getting his knees up. CJ Perry was shown observing on a TV in the back, presumably scouting Andrade El Idolo as a future client. While going for the Figure 8, Austin and Colton got involved again, but the ref caught them before they could do damage and ejected them from ringside.

After Juice landed a distraction roll-up, Andrade hit a leg lariat for a nearfall and immediately followed up with his DDT for the finish.

Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega promo

Chris Jericho says he and Kenny need to see if they can coexist before the match against the Don Callis family. Kenny said he doesn’t like Chris Jericho and doesn’t expect to be at any of his parties, but he has his promise that he’ll have his back against the Callis Family.

Toni Storm Backstage with RJ City

RJ asked Toni what the peak of her career was. She said all does is peak. She talked about how she used to slap on a backward hat and throw a pie in someone’s face, and everyone loved it. Storm accused RJ City of coming on to her, and when he denied it, she asked if she wasn’t good enough for him. It was a funny segment that a recap can’t do justice, and Toni was really working this character incredibly.

The Kingdom vs. Best Friends

The Best Friends attacked The Kingdom as soon as the bell rang, causing them to roll out of the ring to hype themselves up. Mike Bennett ran into the ring but was quickly knocked down by Chuck Taylor, who tagged Trent into the match. The action spilled outside, with all four men going at it as the show went to a commercial break.

When Collision returned, Chuck made a hot tag to Trent, who ran wild on The Kingdom, including landing a massive double-dropkick. Bennett went for a piledriver on the steel steps, but Trent countered, hitting a Death Valley Driver instead. They ended up back in the ring, where they hit stereo piledrivers. While the ref was distracted, Bennett punched both Best Friends members in the wiener, and then he and Taven hit a spike piledriver for the win.

After the match, Bennett said, “Wiener punch, piledriver, Roddy Strong.” Taven said he wasn’t making sense and that he had a message for Adam Cole. He told Cole to meet him at Roddy’s unless he’s selfish, then he can get surgery instead.

Don Callis and Prince Nana

Alex Marvez caught Prince Nana and Don Callis talking. Nana cited an old saying, saying that when Gates of Agony gets through with Kenny and Chris, they’re in the money. He hummed something resembling the tune as the show went commercial.

Julia Hart and Kris Statlander Vignette

AEW aired a brief Julia Hart and Kris Statlander video package hyping their upcoming match at WrestleDream.

Julia Hart vs. Vertvixen

The commentary team cited Julia Hart’s 27-match winning streak before this match against Vertvixen. As the match started, Hart viciously slammed Vertvixen’s head into the mat until the ref pulled her off. Despite being much smaller than her opponent, Hart is good at looking mean and dominating in these types of matches. Vertvixen got a few quick moments of offense in, but this match was designed to add another win to Julia Hart’s resume. She eventually won with a moonsault.

After the match, Hart got on the mic, calling out Kris Statlander. She said she couldn’t wait until tomorrow and told her to come out right now. Being a fighting babyface champion, Kris obliged (with The Best Friends and Rocky in tow). Brody stood between them, but Hart moved Brody out of the way. Kris challenged her to attack, but Hart rolled out of the ring.

Statlander picked up the mic and called herself the defeater of the undefeated. She said Hart’s time was up at WrestleDream.

Josh Barnett and Claudio

AEW aired a video package for a Josh Barnett and Claudio match, which will take place on the Zero Hour for the PPV.

Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho vs. Gates of Agony

Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho had separate entrances, while the Gates of Agony came out together with Prince Nana. Chris Jericho started the match against Toa Liona, and after taking a beating for a few moments, he tagged Chris Jericho into the fight. The pair hit a double suplex on Liona and exchanged smiles and a fist bump after, seeming to realize that they make a formidable pair.

Kenny was launched into Chris Jericho, accidentally hitting him in the face with his elbow. Jericho appeared to let it go as he was hyping up the crowd and trying to get a hot tag from Kenny while the heels had control. During the PiP commercial, the action spilled to the outside, with Liona throwing Omega into the announcer’s table and then into the side of the ring.

The show returned with Kenny Omega landing a huracanrana, allowing him to make the hot tag to Jericho, who hit a Double Axe Handle Smash into a Lionsault on Bishop Kaun. Now recovered, Kenny Omega jumped in on the action, landing a V-Trigger on Kaun and Tope Suicida on Toa Liona. This allowed Jericho to lock the Lion Tamer on Kaun, who quickly tapped out.

After the match, Jericho picked up a microphone and said that Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho proved they could coexist together. Omega said they don’t want to be the greatest tag team in AEW history, but this is all about Don Callis. He said he was brainwashed and that it took Callis spending $30,000 to fly to Japan and attack Ibushi to get his attention and make him realize what needed to be done. He said the original Alpha and Omega would finish the job. Jericho hyped up their opponents, saying Omega beat them both in the span of a month and called Sammy Guevara the worst. He then cited the lyrics to his song Judas and said that Sammy was the ultimate Judas.

The Righteous video package

A quick video about Karma’s deadline aired with the Righteous saying they would take the thing that keeps MJF and Cole together, the ROH Tag Team titles.

Darby Allin main event video

Darby Allin cut an emotional promo about being in the main event and how much the TNT championship means to him. Cage insulted Allin’s dead uncle and said he’d beat Allin.

After all these years, Darby Allin will finally MAIN EVENT a PPV when he faces the NEW TNT Champion Christian Cage in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match at #AEWWrestleDream!

The Righteous squash match

The Righteous took on Judas Icarus and Travis Williams. It was a jobber match, and the featured team won quickly.

After the match, Vincent picked up a mic and called the crowd paper people who were strung together. He said they’re the same people who believed MJF truly is the devil. He said MJF pulls the strings that make us dance, the same strings tied to the liar Adam Cole. Dutch grabbed a block of wood and a steel chair and smashed Judas Icarus’ leg between them.

TMDK and The Acclaimed interview

TMDK was cutting a promo, but The Acclaimed quickly interrupted them, who cited how long they’ve been the champions. After The Acclaimed, TMDK tried to rap, which was quite funny.

Eight-man tag match main event

ZSJ joined the commentary team for the main event. Aussie Open, Big Bill, and Ricky Starks took on FTR, Bryan Danielson, and Wheeler Yuta. As you’d expect from the list of competitors, it was an intense match with lots of action. After a series of tags, the action ended up outside the ring, where everyone started getting involved and brawling into the first commercial break.

The heels had control of Dax throughout the commercial break, but he made a hot tag when it came back. However, the babyfaces didn’t keep control long, with Starks putting a beating on Wheeler Yuta. The fans started a “We want Bryan” chant, building anticipation for his inevitable first appearance in the match.

They kept control of Yuta through the next commercial break, making frequent tags and dominating him. The show returned with Ricky Starks and Yuta both down for a mutual 10 count. Starks crawled toward his corner, and Yuta crawled to him, finally making a hot tag to Bryan Danielson, who went absolutely crazy beating down the heels, all while Zack Saber Jr. criticized everything he did. Eventually, it came down to Starks and Danielson, but Starks managed to tag Big Bill into the match. While attempting a chokeslam, Danielson countered into submission, which was broken up.

From there, all eight men were in the ring, with the babyfaces standing over the heels. All four hit Yes kicks on their opponents, and Dax hit a flying headbutt on Big Bill for a near fall. Once things settled down, Big Bill and Dax were left in the ring. Bill tagged Starks, and the pair hit a chokeslam into a spear, with Starks pinning Harwood for the win.

After the match, the heels attempted to assault Dax, but the babyface team intervened. While everyone was fighting, ZSJ entered the ring and met with Bryan Danielson face-to-face. Sabre shoved and slapped Danielson, who returned fire with a hard slap of his own. Danielson went for a submission, but Saber Jr. narrowly slid out and left the ring as the show went off the air.

Who really is the BEST technical wrestler in the world today? We will find out TOMORROW NIGHT LIVE on PPV at #AEWWrestleDream.
