Sting & Darby (with Flair) vs. The Workhorsemen
After being preempted last week due to the Worlds End Pay-Per-View, Collision returned and kicked off 2024 with Ric Flair coming down to the ring, followed by Sting and Darby Allin who were scheduled to face The Workhorsemen of JD Drake and Anthony Henry. Before the bell, JD Drake hit Sting from behind with a chair and the four brawled on the outside with the heels getting the early advantage, despite Flair getting a chop in on Drake. As the match began officially, the announcers discussed Darby’s match with Takeshita this past week on Dynamite and how Darby was not 100%.
Finally, the faces got the advantage and Sting got the tag as Darby Allin hit the Coffin Drop off the top rope to the outside on Henry allowing Sting to hit the Scorpion Death Drop on Drake for the win. Afterward, the previously announced Sting & Darby Allin vs. Powerhouse Hobbs & Konosuke Takeshita match was promoted for this coming Wednesday on Dynamite.

Continental Crown Championship
After that, we jumped right into the second match of the evening that saw Eddie Kingston’s first defense of the AEW Continental Crown Championship against Trent Beretta who won a four-way match this past week on Dynamite to earn the opportunity. Early in the match, Kingston hit a chop on Beretta and seemed to catch him right on the bridge of the nose as Beretta emerged from outside the ring bleeding from the nose. Trent’s Mom Sue then showed up at ringside in support of her son.
There was a massive near fall with Eddie hitting the half-and-half, spinning back fist and Northern Lights Bomb with Trent kicking out. Kingston followed that up with a stalling Northern Lights bomb for the win.
And the action continues!

Willow & Statlander
Tony Schiavone asked Willow Nightingale and Kris Statlander why Stokely Hathaway was so interested in them. Willow responded by saying it was weird but they were focused on making 2024 even better than last year. Statlander with her pet lizard Boots agreed and said they were going to build on their win last night on Rampage.

ROH Tag Team Championship Proving Ground Match
The newly revealed Undisputed Kingdom took on Komander and Bryan Keith. This was a Proving Ground match where if Komander & Keith could last ten minutes with the champions, they would get a shot at the Ring of Honor Tag Team titles. Kevin Kelly noted that no champion had ever lost or been taken to the ten-minute limit in ROH history and that streak would continue here. Despite a few spectacular moves from Komander and Keith, the Devil’s men proved too much and picked up the win.
Can Komander & Bryan Keith win this opportunity at #ROH Tag Team Gold?!

BCG and The Acclaimed
Renee Paquette asked Bullet Club Gold what their relationship was with The Acclaimed and the Trios Champions interrupted and the two teams almost came to blows but Bowens calmed them down and said the only way to get to the top of wrestling is through factions and asked BCG to think about it. Jay White and Colten Gunn scoffed and walked off but Austin Gunn said “I mean, it made sense” to Renee.
The Undisputed Kingdom might be creating strange alliances when it comes to Bullet Club Gold.

The Cope Open
Adam Copeland was out next and said that as a former champion, he gets an automatic rematch but then said if Christian wanted him to go to the back of the line he would. With that, he said he was issuing an open challenge. This brought out Maria Kanellis, Cole Karter, and Griff Garrison. Garrison got on the mic and challenged Copeland to which Copeland said he was “below sea level and reaching up to Mt. Everest”.

Claudio and the “Two-Box”
The penultimate match on the show was Claudio Castagnoli taking on “The Giant” Andrew Everett. During his entrance, Claudio appeared in an in-set promo and addressed Hangman’s desire to fight also referencing that he was currently inside a “Two-Box” doing a promo. Claudio challenged Hangman to a match this coming Wednesday on Dynamite and then promptly decimated Everett with a Neutralizer and King Kong Lariat in just over three minutes after Everett seemed to miss time a Shooting Star Press to Claudio.

Main Event: House of Black vs. FTR
Finally, we had Buddy Matthews and Malakai Black taking on FTR with the stipulation that if House of Black won, FTR would have to disown their families and join them. Dax’s daughter and wife were sat ringside which did not bode well for FTR based on recent wrestling history. Early in the match, Harwood gave Black the middle finger which prompted Black to storm over towards where Harwood’s family was sitting as FTR ran over and backed them off.

Brody King then stormed down to the ring only to be stopped by Daniel Garcia who nailed him with a chair. Harwood then reversed a pin attempt by Buddy Matthews for the flash victory. All three members of HOB then jumped FTR and Daniel Garcia with the heels hitting all three faces with chairs including a spin kick on Dax. Suddenly there was a ten-bell salute and it was revealed that Julia Hart had control of the ring bell as the show went off the air.
