AEW Dynamite returned to its normal night on Wednesday and registered its largest audience since Grand Slam.

The October 18 episode from Texas averaged 901,000 viewers and 405,000 (0.31) in the 18-49 demographic, per Wrestlenomics and Sports TV Ratings.

AEW was only topped by Game 3 of the Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers coverage on FS 1 with the game averaging 4,640,000 viewers and 1.16 in the 18-49 demo and post-game coverage attracting 1,228,000 viewers and 0.40. Dynamite performed above the WNBA playoff game between Las Vegas and New York and an NHL game between Pittsburgh and Detroit.

Both figures were Dynamite’s largest since the Grand Slam episode on September 20 and the second largest since Blood & Guts in July. Overall viewership was up by 48% from last Tuesday’s episode and an increase of 13% from two weeks, which was the last time the show aired on its regular night. The 18-49 demographic increased by 17% from Title Tuesday and was up by 11% from two weeks ago.

Adults 18-34 averaged 158,000 viewers, which was down 10% from two weeks ago.

Adults 35-49 increased by 31% from two weeks ago with 248,000 viewers with sizable increases among both males and females from the last Wednesday night episode.

In Canada, AEW Dynamite averaged 85,300 viewers and 39,400 in the 25-54 demographic on TSN 2, which was their lowest audience in the country since September 20, which was Grand Slam, and did not average a big number, unlike its performance in the U.S.

Dynamite ranked #4 among sports programs in Canada on Wednesday behind the MLB playoffs, Washington Capitals vs. Ottawa Senators, and Sportsnet Central.

John, what would you contribute to this weeks high rating, as it seems there wasn’t anything that really stood out on last nights show?
