Originally published at AEW Dynamite averages 975,000 viewers, #1 on cable with men 18-49
AEW Dynamite showed minimal movement for its August 18th episode as it finished fourth among all cable programming.
The numbers were nearly identical to last week’s figures of 979,000 and 454,000 in 18-49. It was the second week in a row that the show fell under one million viewers after a four-week stretch topping seven figures.
From July 14th to August 4th, the show had averaged 1,096,000 viewers and 567,000 in 18-49. So, they have dropped 11 percent in overall viewers and 20.5 percent in 18-49 over the past two weeks.
This week’s episode had a loaded line-up with the Fifth Labour of Jericho as Chris Jericho had the long-awaited match with MJF, which has been the match they’ve been working towards over the past five weeks. It also featured Sting’s first match on television since 2015 and billed as his first match on TNT since the final episode of WCW Monday Nitro in March 2001.
AEW finished behind Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Tucker Carlson Tonight with Hannity on Fox News, and AEW listed at 0.35. Dynamite edged out MTV’s The Challenge in the 18-49 demographic.
Dynamite was #1 among men 18-49 and males 12-34 among all cable programs on Wednesday.
In Canada, Dynamite averaged 109,100 viewers and 73,600 in the 25-54 demographic. It was behind the Sportsnet national feed and Sportsnet One broadcasts of the Toronto Blue Jays vs. Washington Nationals for the top sports broadcasts of the evening.
