Coming off its Thanksgiving Eve show last week, AEW Dynamite did not experience a “bounce back” effect, although still finished third on cable for the night.

The December 1st edition of the show from Duluth, Georgia, averaged 861,000 viewers and approximately 406,000 (0.31) in the 18-49 demographic, according to Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily.

The main competition was MTV’s The Challenge, which topped cable on Wednesday with 683,000 viewers and 0.38 in 18-49. ESPN aired two college basketball games beginning at 7:15 p.m. and 9:26 p.m. ET respectively. The later game finished #2 with 1,108,000 and 0.34 in 18-49.

It was the show’s lowest figures for a Wednesday night episode since May 19th against the NBA playoffs.

The numbers were on par with last week’s episode with this week’s figures down 4 percent in overall viewers and the 18-49 was nearly identical to last week’s 408,000.

The Adult 18-34 audience fell by 14 percent this week with males in the demo down from 82,000 to 77,000 and females dropping from 64,000 to 49,000, according to Brandon Thurston’s data.

Females 12-34 dropped from 0.18 to 0.10 this week while males in the same demo declined by 10 percent.

The older audience did an improvement with the 35-49 up by 10 percent from last week.

In Canada, the show was a big success with 167,100 viewers and 97,300 in the 25-54 demographic on TSN 2, which beat out WWE Raw this past Monday.

We do not have data for every Dynamite in Canada this year but this could be their highest number of the year as it topped the Blood & Guts episode in May and the September 8th show following All Out.
