AEW Dynamite presented a pay-per-view level lineup on Wednesday that led to their largest demo audience since September.
The January 11th episode from the Kia Forum in Inglewood averaged 967,000 viewers and approximately 429,000 (0.33) in the 18-49 demographic and ranked third among cable originals for the night behind the NBA on ESPN. (Date: Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily).
Dynamite’s viewership saw a 12 percent increase this week with the 18-49 audience growing by 28 percent from last week. It was the show’s highest viewership since October 26th and the largest 18-49 audience since September 28th.
In the 18-34 demo, the audience increased by 34 percent including a 72 percent spike among women in that demo.
There were significant increases among women 18-49 and females in the 18-34 demo with both demos hitting their highest marks since Grand Slam this past September.
Adults 35-49 were up 24 percent this week due to males increasing by 34 percent while women were only up by 1 percent from last week.
Adults 50+ were flat with 0.42 in the demo this week and last.
Dynamite aired against the Milwaukee Bucks vs. Atlanta Hawks game that averaged 955,000 viewers and 0.37 in the demo as it finished first on cable for the night.
AEW topped both NBA games among women 18-49, women 12-34, adults 25-54, and adults 50+.
Dynamite at the Kia Forum included Escalera De La Muerte with the ending of the seven-match series between Death Triangle and The Elite, the rematch between Hangman Page and Jon Moxley, Saraya’s first match on television for AEW, and Bryan Danielson taking on Konosuke Takeshita.
In Canada, Dynamite aired on TSN 2 and averaged approximately 78,000 viewers and 44,000 in the 25-54 demographic, which finished just outside the top ten sports programs for the night.
NXT New Year’s Evil averaged 77,000 viewers and 32,000 in the 25-54 demo on Sportsnet 360 in Canada on Tuesday night, Raw averaged 240,300 viewers and 112,800 in the 25-54 demo in Canada on SN 360 this past Monday.
Battle of the Belts V aired on TSN 5 in Canada this past Friday but few were aware it was airing on television as it only averaged approximately 10,000 viewers and 7,000 in the 25-54 demo.
