Airing against the NBA playoffs and a big episode of Vanderpump Rules, Dynamite saw a dip in its numbers but remain in its normal range in the demo.
The show saw a seven percent decline in viewers and a twelve percent drop among the key demo from last week’s episode. The 365,000 number in the key demo was the exact number they hit four weeks in a row between April 12 and May 3.
In overall viewership, it was Dynamite’s second-lowest of the year behind the May 3 edition.
Game 1 of the Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics dominated the night with 5.95 million viewers and a 2.07 rating in the key demo. Vanderpump Rules aired from 8-9 p.m. ET on Bravo with 671,000 viewers and 0.25 followed by the big episode at 9 p.m. that averaged 1.885 million and 0.83 in the demo against Dynamite’s second hour.
In the 18-49 demo, male viewership for Dynamite took a hit by dropping 27 percent while females only declined by six percent.
Adults 18-34 saw a 16 percent decrease while 35-49 dropped by 10 percent and adults 50+ were even with last week`s number.
In Canada, the show had a big decline with approximately 50,000 viewers and 31,000 in the 25-54 demographic on TSN 2, which were down by 44 and 46 percent respectively from last week. The main culprit was not the NBA playoffs, but the Toronto Blue Jays vs. New York Yankees, which averaged 1,152,100 viewers. Dynamite did not rank among the top ten sports programs in Canada on Wednesday.
