All Elite Wrestling made the official announcement that their Double Or Nothing pay-per-view is returning to Las Vegas this year on May 23rd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

AEW President Tony Khan did an interview with Sports Illustrated to promote the announcement and said that the company sparked a revolution with Double Or Nothing and he’s looking forward to returning to Las Vegas.

“Last May, we sparked a revolution with our inaugural Double or Nothing pay-per-view event in Las Vegas. Double or Nothing rocked the wrestling industry and led to Wednesday Night Dynamite, a top-rated weekly show on TNT reaching millions of viewers worldwide, and over 140,000 live event tickets sold to date. It’s been an incredible run, and only fitting that we return to Las Vegas to celebrate our one year anniversary with AEW’s marquee event. On Saturday, May 23, Double or Nothing is back for round two at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Last year’s event changed the world of wrestling, and this year the stakes will be even higher.”

Last year’s Double Or Nothing pay-per-view also took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The show sold out in under ten minutes and it featured the AEW debut of Jon Moxley, Dustin Rhodes versus Cody Rhodes, the AEW debut of Awesome Kong and was headlined by Chris Jericho versus Kenny Omega to determine who would be moving on to All Out the following August to face Hangman Adam Page for the AEW World Championship.

Chris Jericho is the current AEW World Champion and he is on a collision course with Jon Moxley that will come to a head at AEW’s Revolution pay-per-view on February 29th. Kenny Omega and Hangman Page are holders of the AEW World Tag Team Championships as the two captured the titles on the Jericho Cruise by defeating Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky of SCU.
