The IWGP World Heavyweight Championship remained in Jay White’s possession at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. He bested Adam Cole, Kazuchika Okada and Hangman Adam Page. White pinned Cole to retain, but before Cole was pinned, he had just ducked a ‘Rainmaker’ from Okada. Cole was checked on by the medical staff immediately after the match. Excalibur did state that Cole walked off without assistance.

In the opening match of the main card, Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara and Minoru Suzuki defeated Eddie Kingston, Wheeler Yuta and Shota Umino. With that victory, The Jericho Appreciation Society (Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard & Angelo Parker) secured the advantage in Blood & Guts this coming Wednesday on Dynamite.

Post-match, Jericho, Menard and Parker approached Shota Umino and Jericho congratulated him on his performance, but then blew a fireball in Umino’s face.

On behalf of #JerichoAppreciationSociety, nothing but respect for @shooter_us after tonight’s #AEWxNJPW #ForbiddenDoor. They just seem to show it a little differently…
