The latest addition to the All Elite Wrestling roster is veteran performer Serena Deeb, the company confirmed on Monday.

Deeb, 34, had been part of the WWE’s series of cuts this past April where she had served as a coach since 2018.

The performer began wrestling in 2005 and came up through Ohio Valley Wrestling and would wrestle all over the country before earning a big break with WWE.

In January 2010, she was added to the Straight Edge Society group alongside CM Punk and Luke Gallows. In her introduction, she had her head shaved in an angle that well-remembered for the time. She was released later that year.

Over the following years, she worked in many promotions including TNA, Ring of Honor, and SHIMMER. In 2017, she was part of WWE’s first Mae Young Classic where she lost in the second round. The appearance re-opened discussions with WWE and she was hired as a coach the following year where she worked until the cuts this past spring.

Deeb appeared on the September 2nd episode of AEW Dynamite wrestling NWA Women’s Champion Thunder Rosa prior to the All Out pay-per-view. Deeb was brought back for last week’s AEW Dark tapings with a match against KiLynn King that airs on this week’s episode.

Good hire. I didn’t agree with her having such a competitive match with Thunder Rosa ahead of Rosa’s PPV match (it seems we get a lot of long competitive matches in AEW general because everyone has too much respect for each other and don’t see the value in short matches very often), but she’s good to have in the women’s division. Like Wai, I was surprised to learn how young she is considering WWE positioned her as just a coach.

Their women’s roster is slowly shifting from green to dark green.
