Big E: "It’s still heartwarming to see people bring up the Hell in a Cell match with The Usos"

Hell in a Cell 2017 meant a lot to those involved in the match.

Opening up the main card of WWE’s 2017 Hell in a Cell pay-per-view was The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) defeating The New Day (Big E & Xavier Woods) for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. It was the second-longest match of the night, clocking in at 22 minutes.

As E was speaking to Kevin Patrick and Corey Graves on WWE After The Bell, he stated that it’s still heartwarming to hear and/or see people mention that match. He credited Xavier Woods for some of the ideas that came to fruition in the bout. He further spoke highly of his tag partner and thinks people do not understand the impact Woods has had in wrestling.

It’s still heartwarming for me to see people still bring up the Hell in a Cell match with The Usos because we still think that was so special and so much of that is (Xavier) Woods’ mind, it’s him — we all brought the best of ourselves to that and he brought the best of himself to that. But it’s also what he’s doing outside of the ring. This man has created jobs, he’s created a gaming channel that brought the locker room together, that got the boys and the girls pay days. We’ve had opportunities to go to incredible Comic-Cons to just do amazing things because of this and so he’s really — I don’t think we will really understand the impact that he’s had on the industry. Much of it might be behind closed doors, but he’s really helped people in so many ways. He’s a beautiful human being, a really giving person. So he’s just someone that I wanna give him his flowers at all times because he’s amazing…

The most recent Hell in a Cell match WWE presented was on night two of WrestleMania 39 where Edge defeated Finn Bálor.
