The Fiend character can never be brought back, says Wyatt.
It has been three months since Bray Wyatt’s return to WWE at Extreme Rules. This weekend, Wyatt is heading into his first match since his comeback and it’ll be a ‘Pitch Black’ match at the Royal Rumble against L.A. Knight.
Going into what will be the 36th Royal Rumble event, Bray Wyatt sat down with Ryan Satin of WWE on FOX for an interview. In a clip released on social media, Wyatt expressed that he feels he cannot do the ‘cult leader’ character without Jon Huber a.k.a Brodie Lee, who passed away in 2020.
Wyatt feels it would be disrespectful to do so and it just can’t be without him. As far as ‘The Fiend’ goes, Wyatt says that character died at WrestleMania 37 in Tampa, Florida. He went on to state that it was more than a ‘goof in a mask’ to him.
For me, the Hawaiian shirt, cult Bray, he can’t be without Brodie [Lee], to me, you know? So I can’t be that without Brodie. It’s just not the same. It’s disrespectful to my best friend. It just can’t be without him but, The Fiend died that day in Tampa, Florida at WrestleMania to me, you know? And again, The Fiend is not just a goof in a mask like people think. That’s just ridiculous (Wyatt laughed). To me, it’s so much more and what you see, where all these things come from, you know, or how they sculpt me or how they molded me as a human being. But he died that day to me and it could never be again. It’s gone.
