Pillman Jr. speaks on NXT. 

Before the main event of the 10/10 WWE NXT, a new Brian Pillman Jr. vignette aired. In this package, he spoke about how he did not know much of his father since he lost him at a young age. 

Pillman Jr. would go on to say that he’s going to carve his own path and use the last name of the person who raised him, his mother, Melanie Pillman, who’s maiden name is King. 

PWInsider noted on 10/9 that WWE trademarked the name ‘Lexis King’. 

Pillman Jr. spent the last several years of his career with All Elite Wrestling. His contract with the company expired in July 2023.

Of all the name changes, this one actually makes the most sense. This is Lexis King’s (FKA, Brian Pillman Jr) best promo EVER!

This was brilliantly done. I was super skeptical about the name change, but after that video and promo tonight, I’m sold. I think NXT is a better fit for him than AEW, and I’m looking forward to what he can do.

Wanted to hate this but it was really well done. The guy needs a lot of work but this is a great reset
