British flights impacted by "technical issue"

Many British flights were grounded on Monday due to a technical issue, affecting lots of fans who attended AEW All In.

The Washington Post reports that it was cited as a “technical issue” by the National Air Traffic Service and it is not yet known the cause of the issue or a resolution as of Monday morning.

It coincides with the U.K. Bank Holiday with London’s Heathrow Airport among the busiest in the world with estimates of 3,000 inbound flights and the same number leaving Heathrow on Monday.

The airspace is not closed but is being operated with restrictions, according to the story.

EasyJet, British Airways, Ryanair, Jet2, Tui, Aer Lingus and Virgin Atlantic & Loganair have been airlines affected by the glitch and have issued statements for passengers. As of last check, approximately 232 outgoing flights had been canceled and that doesn’t include flights that have been delayed.

It is unknown if this will have any impact on AEW talent and personnel heading back to the U.S. The company is set to host Dynamite & Rampage tapings this Wednesday at the NOW Arena in Chicago.

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer site noted his flight was affected but is now flying back to the U.S.

We were among the flights grounded due to a UK-wide air traffic control failure, but thankfully we are in the air now.

Hope everyone loved their time in the country where public transport does not work.
I heard stories of train cancellations and issues getting away from Wembley last night.
I’m sorry to anyone caught up in our ongoing nightmare issues. This country just doesn’t work right now….hopefully we’ll sort our s**t out soon
