Brock Lesnar appears at UFC 226, challenges new heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier

Prior to the UFC heavyweight title fight at UFC 226, Brock Lesnar entered the T-Mobile Arena to watch the fight between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier.

Following Cormier’s victory, he called on Brock Lesnar to enter, Lesnar came into the octagon and they shot an angle to build to a future title bout.

Lesnar cut a promo running down the UFC’s heavyweight division and called Cormier, Miocic and Francis Ngannou pieces of shit. He added to Cormier, “I’m coming for you, motherfucker”. Cormier then told Lesnar to get out of his octagon.

The two are actually very friendly and that is hardly a secret if you have ever spoken to Cormier.

Unlike other setups for major fights, this one was about as transparent as it comes regarding two friends wanting to make a lot of money together.

Of course, Lesnar still has to re-enter the USADA testing pool, which there is no confirmation that he has done so. Lesnar would need to go through six-months of drug testing following his retirement in 2017. When he retired, he was in the middle of serving a one-year suspension following his drug test failures associated with his UFC 200 fight with Mark Hunt in July 2016.

UPDATE: Jeremy Botter has reported that Lesnar has quietly re-entered the pool and is expected to fight for the heavyweight title at Madison Square Garden in November.

The WWE quickly had a story on their site when Lesnar appeared on the UFC 226 broadcast.

Will there be feedback for UFC 226?

I always liked DC, so I’m glad he won the Heavyweight Title.
Hoping he beats Lesner and Jones so he can retire on top (as I dream, I know)!

And this is why the WWE loves Brock. He is a crossover sport talent that can get on ESPN, etc. very easily.

So WWE and UFC quietly got into bed together and produced a cashcow in Brock Lesner and Daniel Cormier. I don’t hate it but I’m done with UFC pretending to be highbrow to WWE. Cormier who probably shouldn’t be a champion at any division (can’t beat Jones and has to take eyes to best Stipe) is going to take a fight with a known doper after his issues with Jones. This guy is as carny as the Indy wrestling he tries to get popular off of bashing. I hope Brock beats him and makes the entire thing a freak show

Braun Strowman shows up afterwards and cashes in his Money In The Bank briefcase

That Brock person is not very polite towards his fellow competitors.

And becomes Universal & UFC champion.
