Brock appeared at the SmackDown show at Madison Square Garden and confronted Reigns, Paul Heyman and The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso). Lesnar revealed that Heyman was aware he was going to be at SummerSlam which drew the ire of Reigns and The Usos.

The last time Roman and Brock met in Saudi Arabia was in 2018 at the Greatest Royal Rumble event where Lesnar defeated Reigns in a Steel Cage to retain the Universal Title.
