CM Punk gone from cover art as new trailer released for AEW Fight Forever

CM Punk has been removed from the latest cover art of the forthcoming AEW Fight Forever video game.

The change was revealed as PlayStation released a new trailer for the forthcoming release.

Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, Hangman Adam Page, and Britt Baker are featured in the trailer to promote its “deep career modes”, create-a-wrestler feature, and various match types.

In-game footage includes MJF, Darby Allin, Sting, Bryan Danielson, Orange Cassidy, Thunder Rosa, Adam Cole, Kenny Omega, and Jade Cargill.

CM Punk is nowhere to be seen, including in the latest version of the cover art for the game, which is revealed at the end of the trailer.

No release date for the game has yet been announced, which will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Eat that Punk! Looks like you will fight for-never.

I was literally laughing out loud. I don’t think I’ve seen a video game directly marketed towards men in their mid 30’s before. Mox saying “do you remember when you could just pick up and play a video game?” only applies to guys that are now grumpy Dad’s. Not sure that’s a winning marketing strategy.

But the trailer does look better than the other footage that had been released.

Everything I’ve seen about this game looks like it’s super easy to play and fun. That’s all I’ve wanted from a wrestling game for 20 years. I already pre-ordered. Give me No Mercy for 2023. A generation of gamers thanks you.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with marketing a game around it being fun to play.
