Longtime friends WH Park and Mike Murray (POST Wrestling’s ROH reviewer) get together to discuss the finals of NJPW’s 19th installment of their G1 Climax tournament: Togi Makabe vs. Shinsuke Nakamura from August 16, 2009.

WH and Mike also talk about what’s on Japanese pizza, what Toronto’s Jurassic Park is, how New Japan uses factions, and Makabe being a cake-eating celebrity among other things.

Another good show from this series. It’s been one of my favourite podcasts recently.

A notable thing about this G1 is that Tanahashi & Makabe were even on points & had tied their Block match so their tie was decided via coin toss which got Makabe a match with B block runner up Sugiura as opposed to Nakamura which saw him through to the finals.

Amusingly after ripping on Michael Cole for not being able to pronounce Bombaye you misspronounced Kinshasa as Shinkasa

The move name you were looking for is ‘Kinshasa.’
The connection to Bombaye(kill him) is Kinshasa is the location of the famous ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ Boxing match. Bombaye is what the crowd were chanting during that fight.

Anyway great podcast
Would like to hear something similar for Noah’s upcoming N1 league(world league)
