Dana White had nothing but positive things to say regarding his time working with CM Punk in the UFC.
The UFC CEO spoke with Justin Barrasso of SI.com and reacted to his return to WWE this past Saturday at the Survivor Series:
It was amazing. I texted and congratulated him, it was incredible.
Punk is returning to a much different structured company with WWE recently completing its merger with UFC to form TKO this past September.
After leaving WWE nearly ten years ago, he signed with the UFC in late 2014 stating his intentions to fight his first professional fight in the largest MMA promotion. Punk’s debut would not occur until September 2016 where he was stopped by Mickey Gall at UFC 203 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Punk fought again in June 2018 losing by unanimous decision to Mike Jackson, which was later ruled a no-contest due to Jackson testing positive for marijuana.
White’s history with Punk was always positive as he conveyed to SI.com:
He’s a super nice guy. He’s one of the easiest people I’ve ever dealt with.
Punk’s return to the company led to this past Monday’s episode of Raw averaging 1.88 million viewers and its largest 18-48 audience since August.
