Daniel Cormier is not ruling out any future appearances for WWE but insists nothing is scheduled.

Speaking with The Associated Press after his appearance as special referee for the Fight Pit at Extreme Rules, Cormier was asked about the potential of a match with Brock Lesnar:

I’ve been retired for a couple of years and I look like it. But I’d have to get in shape if I ever want to do something like that. The door is not closed on anything right now in my life.

Cormier and Lesnar flirted with the idea of fighting in 2018 after the two-time Olympian became the UFC heavyweight champion and was confronted by Lesnar inside the octagon.

The fight never materialized and Lesnar has not competed since a one-off fight with Mark Hunt at UFC 200 in July 2016.

Cormier retired from the UFC after his third fight with Stipe Miocic and was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame this past summer.

After being a lifelong professional wrestling fan, Cormier was named the special referee for Saturday’s Fight Pit match between Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins which ended with Riddle submitting Rollins with a triangle submission.

That’s good for him, I hope gets to do some cool shit… But he was not my favourites at Extreme Riles

I mean they didn’t even use him in any meaningful way, he didn’t really do much other than warn the guys a couple of times. Clearly doesn’t look like he’s a shape to go to a full on match with Brock Lesnar right now, I’m not sure he’s gonna put that much effort into that kind of one off sort of thing. Given his age I don’t see him being a full-time competitor here

I would assume DC costs big :moneybag:
Smart of WWE to bring him in for this, not tie him to anything, and see how the reaction was / is and what the search data or any other meaningful info they can get to determine whether it is worth the price tag.

I’d think Brock vs. DC could headline the Saturday night of Mania if Roman vs somebody (Rock) is on the other
