Darby Allin states that he's not 100 percent

Despite his return, Darby is not 100 percent.

The closing angle of AEW Dynamite on 5/15 featured the return of Darby Allin. Kazuchika Okada low blowed Dax Harwood to retain the Continental Championship in their singles match. Post-match, The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, Jack Perry & Kazuchika Okada) beat down Harwood and Cash Wheeler. Bryan Danielson attempted to make the save but the numbers game was still uneven.

Making his way out to the ring from the back entrance was the returning Darby Allin.

Due to Eddie Kingston’s injury that he suffered at NJPW Resurgence, he is not cleared to compete at AEW Double or Nothing in the Anarchy in the Arena match. Allin is filling in for him.

After the show went off the air, Darby said (via Bryan Alvarez) that he is not 100 percent. At AEW: Big Business, Allin broke his foot in a match against Jay White. In late April, Allin was struck by a bus in New York City and suffered a broken nose.

He told the live audience that he still has a limp. He added that he thinks a beam hit him in the head when Dax was performing a suplex so he may need to go to the hospital. He said he’ll see everyone next time.

As of this writing, here’s the updated Double or Nothing lineup:

  • TBS Championship: Willow Nightingale (c) or Tam Nakano vs. Mercedes Moné
  • AEW International Championship: Roderick Strong (c) vs. Will Ospreay
  • AEW Women’s World Championship: ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm (c) (w/ Luther & Mariah May) vs. Serena Deeb
  • AEW World Championship: Swerve Strickland (c) vs. Christian Cage (w/ Killswitch, Nick Wayne & Mother Wayne)
  • Anarchy in the Arena: The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, Kazuchika Okada & Jack Perry) vs. Bryan Danielson, Dax Harwood, Darby Allin & Cash Wheeler)
  • TNT Championship — Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match: Adam Copeland (c) vs. Malakai Black

I don’t think Darby Allin has EVER been 100%

After you get hit in the face by a bus, you can probably wait at least a month before you need to give this kind of status update.
