Following Wednesday’s NXT television tapings, it was announced that the next TakeOver special will take place on Saturday, June 1st.

The location and ticket information was not revealed but will be announced this Monday.

The June TakeOver event was originally set to take place on Saturday, June 8th in San Jose, California, but that was prior to the WWE’s return to Saudi Arabia being moved to the day prior on June 7th.

Where is Raw emanating from on June 3? That would give us a good indication of the general area NXT may be.

They’re in Austin, TX on June 3. On the Sportskeeda website, it says there’s a live event on May 31 in Rio Rancho, NM. So maybe, Takeover is in Albuquerque?

The leading (and likely) candidate is Bridgeport, Connecticut, but I was also told that isn’t 100%.

NXT Takeover: Connecticut looks more like a houseshow name to me.

It’s been reported that more then likely, bridgeport will be the location for this event. If that’s the case, this will be a tough sell for them as bridgeport isn’t necessarily recognize as a IWC town and since they don’t have any wwe event attach to this takeover, it might not sell as well as other takeover,

I kind of like the idea of them doing a standalone Takeover as an experiment. Connecticut as a location isn’t that bad. Some of the arenas they wanted to run it in may not have been able to commit because of the NBA and NHL playoffs. It’s WWE’s home state, New York City is only about 60 miles away, and Northeast crowds are usually pretty hot.

Webster Bank Arena is in walking distance from the Bridgeport train station and the Port Jefferson ferry from Long Island. 9,000 seats for hockey, not sure about for WWE.

Won’t be comparable to a TakeOver that’s a part of a “weekend” in all likelihood, but I’m sure it will sell.

Bummer. Takeover in San Jose would’ve been awesome.
