The promotion pushed out the announcement about the former five-time TNA World Tag Team Champion’s return.

Richards began his in-ring career in 2004 and worked with Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, TNA/IMPACT and a handful of independent promotions over the years.

Back in the Fall of 2020, Richards took to social media (tweets now deleted) and explained why he stepped away from wrestling in 2017. It had to do with him getting 14 surgeries in total throughout his amateur and pro wrestling careers. While he was with TNA, a doctor told him that he had the knee of a 70-year old. Davey wrapped up his series of tweets by noting that he hoped to be back in the ring again.

PWInsider reported several days ago that Richards was close to agreeing to a return for the GSW promotion.

Interesting. Hopefully he’s less of a dick after all of this time off. I first heard of this promotion not long ago, holding a show in the Monster Factory in southern New Jersey headlined by Alex Hammerstone vs. Austin Aries. This show is further north in Ridgefield Park, NJ.

Meh this douchebag can stay in his little ambulance for the rest of his life if I had a say in the matter.

Never liked the guy. Especially when he was a total dick to me and my cousin at a PWG event. Not surprised when his career turned out the way it did.
