Kingston raises the stakes.

Eddie Kingston is the reigning ROH World and NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion. At AEW Full Gear, Kingston made the announcement that he is entering the company’s Continental Classic tournament that begins on November 22nd.

He stated that in every match he’s in, he’ll be putting the ROH World and STRONG Openweight Titles on the line. As of this writing, the Continental Classic field consists of Kingston, Bryan Danielson, Andrade El Idolo and Mark Briscoe.

On the Full Gear Zero Hour pre-show, Kingston scored a win over Jay Lethal to retain the ROH World Championship. Ortiz got involved and helped weaken the support that Lethal had at ringside from Jeff Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt, Karen Jarrett and Satnam Singh.

Kingston most recently defended the STRONG Openweight Title at NJPW Lonestar Shootout against Satoshi Kojima.

A new title (the Continental Championship joining the World Championship and the International Championship), and a lot of talk on a modern American Triple Crown throughout the show because of this.

I mean. Kingston should go to the finals with this stip though, but I can see him losing in his first match, so…
lucy shrug

If he loses them to someone, that someone could lose them to someone else, and then Kingston could win them back from that someone else because it’s round robin.
