FEEDBACK: AEW Collision 16/11

It’s the last Collision before Full Gear! Let us know what you thought of the show, how you’re feeling about the PPV and anything else that you need to get off your chest.

The end of Collision and I had something in common. I walked my dog through the cold November Rain. That was an interesting choice to end the show with the music video, but it did a good job building up the matches for Full Gear. I enjoyed tonight’s show, but the issue was it went back to the old Collision format of undercard stars and matches with expected winners. Shelton Benjamin continued to look like a monster though. My hope is that after Full Gear, the Hurt Syndicate get involved in a feud with the Death Riders. They’re already starting to get over as babyfaces by being killers. How can you keep them heels when they’re beating up Alex Abrahantas? The pay per view looks great, but AEW pay per views always look great.

After waiting until the last minute to see if the announced card would improve at all, I finally broke down and decided to go to the Collision taping in Albany on Thursday.

Overall, I had a fun time at the show, and I thought pretty much all of the matches met or exceeded my expectations. The main event really delivered, with Anna Jay stepping up in one of the biggest spots of her career. The crowd was tiny, but those who were there seemed pretty engaged from my vantage point, and MVP and Shelton Benjamin were surprisingly the most over people on the show. Tony Khan appeared several times and was really trying to hard sell people to stay for Ring of Honor tapings.

Overall, I’m glad I decided to attend even if almost none of the major AEW stars were on the card. My non-wrestling fan wife seemed to have a good time, and she really got a kick out of the MxM guys. Plus, for the amount of money it would cost to sit in the nosebleeds at a WWE show, I had the best seats I’ve ever had at a major wrestling show.
