Let us know what you thought of tonight’s episode and how you think the “residency” experiment in Texas is going.
I’m here live at the show tonight. I live in North Texas but this is the first (and only) show I’ll be able to attend of the Arlington Residency.
I had a really fun time tonight. It is a small room they’re in. So I was a few rows back from the barricade for $30 which is an incredible deal. I’ve never been so close to the ring for a show which is incredible.
I’ll be interested in hearing how the crowd came across live on TV. It seemed to be very loud in the arena. But a curse of a small arena is that it means you can always hear those one or two really obnoxious fans. I had one in my section yelling really annoying stuff like “make me a sandwich” during the women’s matches or “I would rather be watching Nitro” at times. Hopefully those didn’t make it on TV.
The main event I think was the match of the night. Followed by Swerve vs Ishii. The crowd also loved Thunder Rosa, Darby and FTR.

As weird as it is to say, I’m glad Thunder Rosa bled the way she did tonight. Years ago, I heard a story from Tommy Dreamer. He was nicknamed “Tommy Dripper” in ECW, because whenever he tried to get blood, it wasn’t that much. So one night, he asked Raven to cut him. And Raven did. Tommy bled a gusher, and it became an infamous picture, as I saw that picture all over the Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazines when I was 9. So whenever I would see someone like Thunder Rosa, or more recently, Skye Blue, I would be concerned that they would try to kill themselves to get some juice. Not everyone can bleed like CM Punk or Britt Baker, who always wear the crimson mask whenever they bleed.
I like how Collision is trying to build up tag teams. AEW’s tag team division has been dormant since the Young Bucks held the belts, and it’s good to see them trying to establish teams and characters of those teams. MxM Collection feel like they should have been signed awhile ago, as they are a highlight every time they’re on TV. I also hope the Outrunners start getting more wins too. Overall, despite my personal complaints with AEW recently, Collision was a great show. I know Smackdown is highly rated and very story heavy, but I found this past week of Smackdown was incredibly boring, and that’s why I love Collision. I also love how AEW would have matches featuring Stokley Hathway and Tomohiro Ishii.
OMG THEY LET THE THUNDER ROSA VICTORY BREATHE TONIGHT! You see, TK? That wasn’t too hard! The poor woman bled in that ring and she deserved that moment. I hope we can slow things down and let the victories matter instead of going to the next segment.
Good match!
Okay, so I need to go on a rant here: TAKESHITA. I have sung his praises long before he was the Alpha, I questioned his placement on the card and the Rampage Duty he was put on and I recall John and Wai essentially putting their hands in the air as if his placement was not a big deal since it was TV time still and others weren’t getting it.
Honestly, this guy BEAT KENNY OMEGA. And TK puts him on Rampage for the longest and we are to think that’s logical booking?
Don Callis is a detriment to him because he takes the heat away from Takeshita. Now Callis isn’t booked for heat, and when he’s on commentary he doesn’t spotlight Takeshita at all. It’s a crime!
Now we are here. G1 season. Takeshita is a stand out because OF COURSE HE IS! The tune from some have changed towards him but really, this is no surprise to anyone paying attention. Language barrier be damned, this guy has been a top guy that’s being wasted on the AEW roster and if NJPW or WWE makes a play for him, I’d say to Takeshita take it because until TK gets his head out of his ass, he is in limbo in AEW.
They need to spotlight these guys like Fletcher, Takeshita, the newly signed Billington. Pretend I’m just watching for the first time and just give me packages like the one AEW did for the Outrunners tonight but more in depth. Have Malenko or Dustin Rhodes narrate if you want, I just need compelling backstory to compliment their in ring work. When these guys are showcased and when they win, let the victory breathe! It matters in the long run because these guys like Fletcher, Ospreay, Takeshita, Okada, Billington, Claudio, RUSH are your studs, they’re in it for the long haul, and they need to be in that title mix because Danielson is on his way out, MJF isn’t so fresh as they think, Hangman’s bound to get sidetracked, and after that who else they got ready for Swerve? The aforementioned talent will get butts in seats if you make them matter! They deserve better!
Okay, I’m done. Back to catching up on the rest of the show.
