I liked the show tonight, and it was a good distraction. I am annoyed by the constant DQs in Death Rider matches and I hope that doesn’t become a habit with them. All the matches were solid and seemed to get a good reaction from the crowd, but something seemed off about the Adam Cole/Malakai Black match. It wasn’t what I was expecting as far as in ring action goes, and it especially didn’t compare well to the other matches on the night. It was also good to see Powerhouse Hobbs back. It’s also a shame that apparently, Kamille is as good of a driver as she is a wrestler. Overall, it was a good show tonight.

Nice to have some fun wrestling tonight to ignore the shitty news from last night. I’ll watch NXT 2300 later as I wasn’t up for paying $75 to see it live. Dynamite was worth my evening, capped off by a great return for Powerhouse Hobbs and a really good tag match overall. Ospreay, Ricochet, Hobbs & Davis in the ring at the end looking like a heck of a squad to take on the Don Callis Family in a future 8-man tag. Good wrestling overall on this episode. I guess I should have expected the non-finish in the other big tag match given it’s placement, so I thought it was a bummer end to that otherwise hot match. Nice to know that Moxley’s crew is officially called the Death Riders by the end of the show. I liked Cole vs. Black less than Cole vs. Buddy Matthews last week because of the tired finish, though the announce team did their best to explain it.
Really nice to have so many people returning to the show. Julia Hart has mentioned she’s just waiting on a call to return. Do you see her getting involved in the Women’s World Title picture, or back in the TBS Title picture?

This was a fun episode and a much needed escape from current events. I love the seeing the Hurt Syndicate getting a chance to present themselves in front of a live crowd. Their song is dope and they look like a million bucks. I’m wondering who they will add to their ranks. I originally thought Hobbs, but he returned as an ally of Ricochet.
It seems like Kamille’s presentation has soured in the last month. Her matches have not been good, and now her thing is being incompetent. I don’t think it’s a good thing to continue having Kamille look inferior in this Stat/Mercedes feud.
Is Malakai Black leaving? Taking a break? I know that his place in the company has always been questioned, but the match and post match felt like he was done in AEW. If so, that would be disappointing because I really enjoyed him and the House of Black, despite their inconsistent pushes.

A few notes on crowd reactions, which I hope translated well as the crowd was very lively. As expected, the Hurt Syndicate were incredibly over. Jericho, for all of the complaints, still generates a significant reaction. And then there’s Adam Cole, which saw the crowd split 50/50 once again. It’s not looking like they’ll get the desired reaction when he and MJF are finally in the ring together.
Also, it may have only felt that way live, but it really looked like they were giving Malakai his flowers. He still has time on his contract, correct? Maybe it was just an important night for those two to be in the ring together again.
I really like them hyping up Okada as a tournament expert. It should make for a great moment for whoever defeats him.
And lastly, a main event with nearly all members being guys that the company had built up. Hobbs return being treated like a big deal was great to see. And they built to Ospreays appearance really well.
I look forward to listening to the show on my drive home tomorrow, thanks guys.
I don’t know what the politics or work environment is like… All I know is that we need much more Malakai Black in singles matches on TV.
Tags, trios… Meh. Singles please.
