I enjoyed the two C2 matches the most and thought the rest of the matches were fine. Could have done without the opening tag match ending with a DQ after two segments. Toni Storm’s return was very nice but way too brief. Looking forward to hearing from her soon to establish her new/old character.
Booking a 4-Way for the World Title at Worlds End didn’t surprise me given the booking the past few weeks, but multi-man PPV matches for the title haven’t led to a title change if I recall, and I’ve never been convinced a title change would happen in them. I didn’t expect Moxley to lose it in a singles match at this PPV, so I definitely don’t expect him to lose it in a 4-Way. I’m sure it’ll be fun, but I expect the Continental Classic to be focal point of Worlds End.
Matt Cardona laying into the white meat babyface shtick so much in these recent AEW appearances would make me think a big heel run is coming after he loses at Final Battle, but I don’t anticipate him sticking around after Final Battle.

Winter came and went, but AEW certainly went back to the past tonight, with Toni Storm’s look from the 80s and Will Ospreay’s haircut from the 90s. I was surprised Toni Storm came back the way she did. I understand you can’t go with a gimmick like that forever, but it was always really fun. I guess that was the Toni Storm that retired, though I’d like to see the Timeless one pull a Terry Funk sometime in the future. The matches were great tonight, but it seems like the Deathrider stuff gets a lot of DQ finishes, which is annoying.
I’m also interested in what’s going on with Matt Cardona. I know he’s not officially signed with AEW or GCW, but it certainly makes things interesting when there are problems going on between the two companies. My dream scenario would be Cardona wins the ROH Title and takes it to GCW with him. I wonder if an ROH vs GCW feud could be done for ROH TV and maybe that is what leads into the new TV deal. Some food for thought anyway.
