This week on The Double Shot, it’s our final GLOW review as we go through the final two episodes of the season.
To mark the end of the season, we would like to hear your feedback to the season as a whole and the major stories and takeaways, the show’s direction coming out of the season and any other observations.
Tune into The Double Shot Wednesday night.
I didn’t mind GLOW Season 3, but it was the season I noticed they really took a big step back from the Wrestling and the business in general.
I liked in the first two seasons where the Wrestling and the ladies learning the business were woven heavily into the plot. This season the writers seemed to put that in their back pocket and focused on cultural/societal topics because they are topics in the public conscious presently.
It wasn’t understated like in other seasons, and felt overpowering.
I did really like the growth though of some of the characters, Shiela for example was a highlight this season in addition to Ruth. Gina Davis was fun in her own way. When she was introduced I expected her to be an antagonist or have a more central role in the season but she didn’t. I really like what they did with her character though.
I think for Season 4 they need to bring Wrestling back into it a bit more. It felt like they were hinting at it with Carmen showing she wasn’t really fulfilled and was always trying to freshen things up.
