What a waste. What a horrible waste.
Let me get this straight. Becky can’t find it in her heart to even acknowledge, let alone reconcile with, Charlotte in the moments following their having shared 30 minutes of brutal, violent Hell, itself the conclusion to over a month of extreme emotions and incrementally rising levels of pain. That wasn’t sufficient impetus to force some kind mutual show of respect, but loyalty to the Smackdown brand is? The WWE had an ace in their pocket that they could have employed at any time over the next couple of years, and they wasted it three weeks after the fact in order promote a feud that no fan cares about and that no wrestler, including Becky, ever gave any suggestion of being invested in outside of these couple weeks.
And Charlotte’s interview after the fact only added to the fire. She came off as desperate, like if she kissed Becky’s ass enough, fans wouldn’t see her as Bex’s foil and that she might even be able to share in some of the champ’s heat. It feels like she sacrificed some of her dignity in that moment, which is something that will follow her around even if she turns heel.
