This Mania has suffered from a lack of creative rather than bad creative, which I can live with. Some of the matches like Styles/Nakamura and Charlotte/Asuka just speak for themselves without much of a build needed. I think the card is strong top to bottom with very little filler other than the battle royals.
Question: Not every Mania has a big surprise like the Hardys return last year but if you had to make a bold prediction for Sunday, what would you guess happens that we aren’t expecting? And who do you think gets the “Sitting in the crowd” spots at Takeover on Saturday?

Both Raw and Smackdown really failed to deliver as go home shows this week. In fact most of the builds have been fairly weak, with that being said though it’s still a super solid card on Sunday and I’m looking forward to it regardless.
My only takeaway from both episodes? Apparently new subscribers to the network get Wrestlemania for free. They really should advertise that fact more, I don’t think they got that point across enough.

I disagree wholeheartedly with Mark from Vaughn. It baffles me how anyone can say that Styles/Nakamura or Charlotte/Asuka doesnt need much build. The audience is not all POST Wrestling listeners. They dont all know who Dave Meltzer is and what guys have had 5 star matches. They dont all know what New Japan is or who wrestled there. We’ve been told for weeks how this Styles/Nakamura match is a dream match, but if you only watch the WWE, what exactly makes this a dream match?
We’ve seen Nakamura have mostly mediocre matches on the main roster. We’ve seen him lose multiple times, to Jinder Mahal, who quite possibly is the worst WWE Champion of all time. There is nothing at all, that proves this is a dream match. The WWE needed to tell the story of these 2 men. They needed to tell us why these 2 are friends. Why they are so competitive towards each other. Why wrestling for the WWE title, against each other, is so important to both men. They failed on all accounts and went with the usual formulaic crap that they are known for.
The best part of this show was everything with Bryan, Shane, Owens & Zayn. This is a feud that has been building since Owens was drafted to Smackdown. This match is the real main event of Wrestlemania.

I feel like my thoughts on tonight’s show will probably echo everyone else’s. Just a whatever show, I feel like WWE knows that since they have a potential homerun Wrestlemania that they can phone in this weeks shows. Which is a shame, just imagine how good these shows would be if they gave a shit.
I do have two questions. One: if The Undertaker does come back as the American Bad Ass, how well do you think he will be received? I’m sure he would get a big pop but I feel some people would be disappointed since he wouldn’t be the Deadman. And two: what are the wrestlers going to point to after Mania since they can’t point at the sign anymore???
Before you guys start your own road to Wrestlemania in a few short hours, quick thoughts on the forgotten show this weekend UFC 223. What are your thoughts on the new main event, and do you see Thug Rose retaining?

Smackdown was fine this week. I thought it worked much better as a go-home show than Raw. I’ve really liked the build between AJ and Nakamura the last two weeks. Just telling the story that it’s not about a personal dispute, it’s just about two men who both want to be champion and prove they are the better man. It’s simple but effective. And I really liked the Nakamura sit-down interview. It was, again, simple but effective. The Asuka/Charlotte build on Smackdown wasn’t anything special, but their couple of minutes in the Mixed Match Challenge got me very excited to see them face off. I also really enjoyed the Sami and Kevin promo.
205 Live was special this week, and it’s entirely because of the main event. The opening tag was good, but the main event was fantastic. It was really incredible to see Murphy and Kalisto slowly win over more and more of the crowd as the match went on. With every great spot and exchange, you could feel more of the crowd react. It all crescendoed perfectly with the standing ovation and “205” and “this is awesome” chants at the end. It’s the hottest and most alive the brand has ever felt since it started. Both of those guys deserve to be commended for that match, but Buddy Murphy in particular has shown he is a main event star in that division. I am very excited to see if the brand can carry this momentum forward and how the WM match goes.

I’ve never been that exited about a WrestleMania card …all the builds are so so but is it just me or when the builds are not that good the match always over deliver . T( kinda notice that on the nxt takeovers)
Wow who is drake maverick , he was doing his promo and I was feeling all sort of emotions what a strong motivational speech for 205 . I’m happy I stick for the high and lows of that brand .
Murphy Khalisto was awesome , I love the crowd I hope when I’ll be in mtl for raw and sd we will give those guys a chance . ( do you wanna have a live feedback )
Question : I know John wasn’t really in on the Samy zain heel persona because he is a tremendous baby face , but tonight man I just realized how good he his as a heel … do you think it is a good move even if you said you wouldn’t turn him at first ?
