Some of you may be aware (or not), that I run shows in the Ottawa area.
Every year since 2011, we have organized a 100% for charity fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society, in memory of Phrank Morin (a local talent who passed away at age 23, following a very quick and brutal battle with cancer). Since then, we have raised and donated over $270 000 to the CCS. We have done so without any corporate sponsors of any sort, and entirely by the community surrounding the indie scene.
This year, as a result of COVID, we are not able to run an event. However, we are still attempting to raise funds in honor of what would have been our 10th edition.
Last weekend, Evil Uno and our friends at NewLegacyInc hosted a 12 hour gaming marathon, with such guests as Colt Cabana, Brodie Lee, Xavier Woods, and Dakota Kai, and raised over $50K towards this years cause.
This coming weekend, we are holding a 12-hour marathon feature featuring a bunch of the previous years events, on IWTV.Live. We are collecting donations at www.fighting-back.ca. Those donations will go straight to the Cancer Society in our honor, and you’ll receive an immediate tax receipt, for any donation over $20.
The events showcased will feature tons of great talent including Cody, Ultimo Dragon, The Young Bucks, Roderick Strong, The Dark Order, Proud N’ Powerful, Joey Janela, The Butcher and The Blade, 2 Cold Scorpio, Tommy Dreamer, and countless others.
