The final NXT broadcast of the year was a taped show, which saw the show’s largest 18-49 audience in six weeks.
The December 26 edition averaged 670,000 viewers and 253,000 (0.19) in the 18-49 demographic, per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics.
Compared with last week’s taped show, the viewership was up by 5% with the 18-49 audience seeing a 14% spike over the previous week. It was their highest 18-49 audience since November 14.
Females in the 18-49 demo experienced the strongest increase with a 32% improvement from 81,000 to 107,000 this week – its highest mark among women in the demo since November 7.
Adults 18-34 had a minimal increase from 102,000 to 104,000, although males dropped 24% from last week offset by females increasing by 41%.
Adults 35-49 grew by 23% to 149,000 from last week’s show.
The show was headlined by Eddy Thorpe beating Dijak in an NXT Underground match. It included the Men’s Breakout Tournament semi-finals with Oba Femi and Riley Osborne advancing to next week’s final on the New Year’s Evil special.
In Canada, NXT averaged approximately 96,000 viewers and 37,000 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360. The overall viewership would not only be the largest of the year for NXT in Canada but also the highest number of records I have since the program launched on Sportsnet 360.
Last Friday’s edition of SmackDown averaged 215,000 viewers and 82,000 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360 in Canada – an increase from the previous week’s numbers of 172,600 and 58,000 respectively.
Monday’s “Best of” Raw special in Canada averaged approximately 128,100 viewers and 37,800 in the demo on Sportsnet 360m – down from 279,000 and 124,900 the previous week.
