A prominent television producer has joined AEW’s ranks.

Former WWE creative team member and experienced soap opera producer Jennifer Pepperman has been appointed as Vice President of content development role in AEW, per an announcement made Wednesday evening.

AEW’s statement says that Pepperman will work alongside Head of Creative Tony Khan to develop the on-screen product of the promotion.

“Adding Jennifer Pepperman’s brilliant mind to the AEW team opens the door for exciting new ideas and will help us build upon the incredible stories currently developing on the road to AEW Revolution across our three weekly shows on TBS and TNT,”  Khan said in a statement issued this week.

Pepperman was a long-time member of the WWE creative team, initially joining the promotion in 2017. Her move to AEW comes just days after a report surfaced that confirmed her departure from WWE this month.

WWE producer Adam Pearce thanked Pepperman for her time in the company via social media last week: “I have always appreciated your creativity, passion, and the countless time you’ve given to help me and others backstage over the years,” he said. “I’ll miss your energy, but I know you’ll be great wherever you may roam.”

Prior to her time as a WWE writer, Pepperman had a career in directing and producing soap operas. She has won three Daytime Emmy Awards for Best Directing since 2007, including her work on shows One Life to Live and As the World Turns.

Lawsuit dismissed, but this snippet has been been making the rounds.

Apparently this woman was the personal writer for Sasha Banks in WWE? Doesnt exactly bode well when her most memorable line was the cringey fake evil laughter after everything she says. Hopefully Ms. Pepperman took some time over the last couple weeks to come up with some better material for ole Sash.

I’m going to take a wild guess that this will be mostly
Ignored around here.

It wasn’t even mentioned on RAD last night. So I think you’ve made a very fair assessment.

I was referring more so to posters who if it was the other way around would be posting about it like crazy.

She was named in a lawsuit that was voluntarily dismissed.

Seems like most of the creative team was listed.

Whatever the issue was, it seems like it was resolved and she got taken care of.

As for allegations against her - I don’t know. I do know that she’s specifically being brought in because of her relationship with Mercedes.

But it’s still cool to call someone a sex trafficker about 15 minutes after a story comes out that never mentions them.

If there were twenty years of stories about Pepperman’s alleged behavior, and a track record. Maybe I’d be a little more up in arms.

If you’re comparing this to the WWE sex trafficking suit, you’re comparing apples to oranges.

As for drawing conclusions about Corporate Officer #1 and #2… Using the logic and power of deduction, it’s not hard.

But okay, you got me. I’m not going to go as hard over a dismissed lawsuit over behaviour in a writer’s room, as I am about a well covered history of rape and sexual misconduct. Must be because I’m an AEW supporter.

NOBODY is saying that the allegations towards Vince McMahon and Jennifer Pepperman are the same or even close to the same.

But come on, Randy Orton got more heat from people around here for comments that were not even a little offensive then a person who was directly named in a racism case.

Putting aside how “hard you’re going” on this board over the Vince lawsuit (which is evil and I hope they put him under the jail, let’s not confuse my own feelings about it)… I 100% do think you immediately rushed to defend Pepperman because you’re an AEW supporter. You’ve cultivated that track record here for years at this point, so some people are going to think it’s the case.

(I do appreciate that you deleted your paragraph where you cited that Pepperman has multiple friends who are POC as “evidence”.)

What I am looking for on this message board, and what we usually get here is honest conversation. If I wanted conversation that resembled a political discussion where people are just just trying to defend “their side” or “criticize the other” I would go on social media. I couldn’t care less if people prefer AEW WWE, TNA etc. IMO it ruins honest debate when it begins to feel tribal and like I’m talking to someone working in PR.

Im sorry if my calling this out bothered you, but I said what I said because I love posting on this board and I don’t want this board to turn into that, and I don’t apologize for it.

And for the record, I don’t have an issue with pretty much anyone personally on this board, even the people I push back on the most IMO are good people that are coming from a good place. I understand the resentment towards WWE/Vince. If I didn’t like people who post here I wouldn’t discuss things with them just like I refuse to engage on social media about wrestling because its a cess pool. I think this is the best group of wrestling fans out there because IMO John/Wai create a great culture here, I truly don’t post anywhere else.

Anyways, if you don’t see where I am coming from, that’s fine. We usually don’t see eye to eye anyways haha, but like I said before I’d love to have a beer with you if I ever met you.

I agree that anyone proven to be involved with the tracking scandal should be bashed. 100%.

But, I do think that people should reserve judgement to bash certain people until definitive info is out, as blind rage mixed with speculation and “facts” drawn from Twitter helps nobody. As for Vince, go to town as I feel that its fair to all but confirm he was doing bad things. But when Randy Orton posts that he is upset by all this and people jump down his throat, that’s what is disappointing to read around here.

I always try to be consistent. When the Hausman/Jericho/Rae rape allegations came out, I said:

I’m not going to sit here rip into Tony, Jericho or anyone until more info is out. And in hindsight, I’m glad I didnt as no other info came out. When the WWE sandal hit a people started pointing at performers and management etc. right off the bat, I said the same thing I said when the AEW story came out. All I ask for from people is consistency. And before someone says this, I know the two stories are not the same as one was from a court filing, the other was from a podcast and a like to the comment, but the point is that it lead to speculation in both instances that was just that.

I’ll drop it as I worry that at this point im going to begin burning bridges. Anyways, I hope that makes sense.

The quote I removed wasn’t an attempt at evidence, but a bad look no matter how I worded it. I couldn’t properly put out my thoughts without it easily being reduced to “she’s got black friends”, which is not what I was trying to express.

Regardless of how correct you are in a poster’s appraisal or call out over perceived double standards, I think you kind of railroaded the conversation from this post.

As a usual lurker (and this is thread is kind of why), I’m a little disturbed at how often threads have become bickering as of late.

edit: and yes, i’m not exactly on-topic either

I hear ya, but the alternative would be creating a thread about this which in all honesty would probably be perceived worse.

Ok but is it really an Internet message board community if people aren’t arguing with each other over inane shit? Isn’t this why we are here?

lol, that is fair. And this place is better then 99% of the IWC which on the whole is pretty toxic.
