Friday Night SmackDown tied for first among all television programs on Friday and grew its audience from the week prior.
The January 13th episode from Green Bay averaged 2,326,000 viewers and approximately 717,000 (0.55) in the 18-49 demographic, equaling the rating from ABC’s Shark Tank for first among all programming that day. (Data: Wrestlenomics and Showbuzz Daily).
The numbers reflected a 3 percent growth in both categories while the show saw a 6 percent increase among adults 18-34 and a 2 percent bump in adults 35-49.
SmackDown was headlined by a match between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in their first singles meeting on television since July 2021. The show included an Intercontinental Championship match between Gunther and Braun Strowman, which had been announced two weeks prior and opened the Fox broadcast.
In Canada, SmackDown averaged 194,600 viewers and 93,800 in the 25-54 demographic on Sportsnet 360, which ranked third among all sports programming in viewership that night but was first in the demo.
NBC’s Young Rock averaged 1,481,000 viewers and 0.27 in the 18-49 demographic as it ranked last among the big four networks on Friday. It was an increase from the previous week’s episode that averaged 1,306,000 and 0.24 in the demo.
