Coming up on June 6th is the National Wrestling Alliance’s second pay-per-view event since their resumption of shows. The organization has been presenting episodes of NWA Powerrr on FITE TV and coming out of the Back for the Attack event, they’ve been building towards ‘When Our Shadows Fall’ on 6/6 and the full card for that show has been revealed.

It had already been made official that Trevor Murdoch would be challenging Nick Aldis for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship after winning a 14-person Battle Royal.

‘When Our Shadows Fall’ will also see an NWA World Women’s Title defense, Kylie Rae and JTG in action along with the in-ring return of Taryn Terrell who has not wrestled since 2017.

  • NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship: Nick Aldis (c) vs. Trevor Murdoch
  • NWA Women’s World Championship: Serena Deeb (c) vs. Kamille
  • NWA World Tag Team Championships — Three-Way Tag Match: Aron Stevens & JR Kratos (c) vs. Chris Adonis & Thom Latimer vs. War Kings (Crimson & Jax Dane)
  • Thunder Rosa & Melina vs. Kylie Rae & Taryn Terrell
  • The Pope vs. Tyrus (w/ Austin Idol)
  • JTG vs. Fred Rosser
  • Four-Way Tag Team Match: The End (Odinson & Parrow) vs. MechaWolf & Bestia 666 vs. Marshe Rockett & Slice Boogie vs. Sam Rudo & Sal Rinauro

‘When Our Shadows Fall’ will be Nick Aldis’ third defense of the NWA Worlds Title in 2021. He bested Jayson Strife at an independent event in January and defeated Aron Stevens at NWA’s Back for the Attack pay-per-view in March.

Serena Deeb successfully defended the NWA World Women’s Title against Riho on THE BUY IN pre-show at AEW’s Double Or Nothing pay-per-view.

Aldis/Murdoch should be straightforwardly decent - Murdoch’s been excellent on the mic in this program, but it’s suffered from a bit of overexposure and hitting the same beats over and over, to the point where I’ve confused new face-offs with promo packages. Deeb/Kamille should be great in-ring, but Deeb’s total absence from Powerrr makes this feel a bit abrupt. Speaking of people not on Powerrr, I have no idea how Kylie Rae is going to be shoe-horned in - hopefully there’s an attempt at a rational explanation on…whatever tonight’s non-Powerrr show is? And saints preserve us, we’re getting Pope/Tyrus again. Pope should consider a second career as a firefighter what with all the carrying of Tyrus he’s done, but there’s only so much he can do. Tyrus should be topping year-end lists for worst in-ring performer, but I think 99% of the larger wrestling fandom hasn’t caught any of this run, lucky souls.
