I like John’s idea of having Omega lose to Ishii and then that puts more importance to Ibushi beating him on the last day. I’d go with that as well and have Ibushi win. My other idea was to have Omega lose just once to Ibushi and have Omega win the G1, allowing him to pick his opponent and wanting to avenge the lose. But thinking about it, it would take away from Ibushi a lot and having Ibushi just flat out win the G1 to make the title match is better.

I love the idea of Omega winning the G1 with his only loss being to Ibushi. I don’t really know my NJPW history, but it seems like a pretty unique way to tell the story.

Though, admittedly, that’s not really getting the most out of the G1 to give it to a “made man” in Omega. I’m sure that eventual match/feud with Kenny and Kota would be just fine without it.
