Jersey Championship Wrestling is being revived and the return show date has been set in place.

Game Changer Wrestling made the announcement via social media that the Jersey Championship Wrestling brand and video library has been acquired from previous owner, Ricky O. JCW, the lineal predecessor to Game Changer Wrestling will have its first event of the rebirth come May 1st at the Showboat in Atlantic City, New Jersey. That event is going to stream for free on YouTube.

Joining GCW promoter Brett Lauderdale to reboot JCW is Adam Abdalla, President of Cultural Council and publisher of ‘Orange Crush’.

June of 2015 was the last time that an event was held under the Jersey Championship Wrestling brand.

On top of this announcement, one of the headlining bouts for Spring Break during WrestleMania 37 weekend in Tampa, Florida is Rickey Shane Page defending the GCW World Championship against Nick Gage. Shane Page has reigned as champion since December of 2019 when he defeated AJ Gray at the ‘Long. Live. GCW.’ show in Nashville.

I remember reading through Cagematch that JCW morphed into GCW, but didn’t know they didn’t have the rights to the library until now. Interested to see how it will differ from GCW (maybe less death matches?).
