The nominations for the 70th annual Emmy Awards were announced Thursday with several nominations for the Netflix original series, GLOW.

The series was nominated for Best Outstanding Comedy Series along with Atlanta, Barry, Blackish, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Silicon Valley, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.

Betty Gilpin, who portrays Debbie Eagan / “Liberty Belle” on the series was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy with Zazie Beetz (Atlanta), Alex Borstein (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Aidy Bryant (Saturday Night Live), Leslie Jones (Saturday Night Live), Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), Laurie Metcalf (Roseanne), and Megan Mullally (Will & Grace).

Director Jesse Peretz was nominated for his work on the pilot episode of the series for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.

The series also received several additional nominations for technical awards.

Despite a big push, including hosting an event to create awareness for Emmy consideration, the WWE was not nominated for any awards.

The Emmy Awards will take place September 17th in Los Angeles on NBC and will be hosted by Michael Che and Colin Jost of Saturday Night Live.

Can’t see WWE liking this. Serves them right, maybe this will be their wake up call and actually look to improve things. (Even though the low ratings should have shaken things up though.

Or they will just to a piss poor GLOW mickey take parody segments on Raw

Mind you, I thought that The Andre The Giant Documentary had a decent chance.

WWE can’t even qualify for an emmy because they don’t credit their writers.

For anyone who doesn’t know that.

That’s interesting actually. I’ve never really thought about that.

Always wondered who were the best boy and key grip were for the WWE shows…

they would set the record for most “executive producers” listed. Probably a dozen or more.
