Swoggle recaps his cumulative time in TNA/IMPACT Wrestling.
Throughout Dylan Postl a.k.a. Hornswoggle’s career in pro wrestling, he’s had multiple stints and appearances for IMPACT Wrestling. He covered his time in the company on his Going Postl podcast.
Swoggle went back to 2019 when he competed in the Call Your Shot Gauntlet Battle Royal at Bound For Glory. He revealed that he suffered a concussion in the match. He stated that Raj Singh ‘basketball’d’ his head and Swoggle immediately knew he had a concussion.
Ethan Page and Tommy Dreamer checked on him in backstage and when Singh made his way to the area, Swoggle told him what happened in the ring was way too much and Singh was apologetic. Swoggle later learned that Page and Dreamer ‘had words’ with Singh and stood up on his behalf. They consistently checked on Swoggle when he was driving back home after the show.
That was in Chicago I wanna say (IMPACT Bound For Glory 2019). That was a complete Tommy Dreamer booking. Reached out to me and said, ‘Hey, you wanna do this Battle Royal? It’s right in your area, you can drive down. We got a spot.’ Perfect, awesome. Then I remember I did (a) butt you in the butt spot with Johnny Swinger. I believe I German’d him and then everything was going good and it was fun, I had a really, really fun time and then we had a spot with myself and Raj Singh and I take a pie face really well; really, really well. I know I do, and it’s very easy to do. All you have to do is guide my face. He didn’t guide my face. He basketball’d my head and I knew immediately I had a concussion. I hit the mat and everything was ringing and it was a bad one, I know for sure it was bad and I rolled to the apron and I remember going — to one of the refs, I go, ‘Just hide me for a bit. I need a second’ and I was out of it, out of it and it might have been on my elimination, I just laid on the floor. But I remember going to a ref and saying, ‘Protect me. I’m out of it. I need a second’ and I get to the back and Ethan Page walks up to me and this is the first time that Ethan Page and I really connected as friends. He walks right up to me, he goes, ‘You okay?’ I go, ‘Nope.’ He goes, ‘What’s going on?’ I said, ‘You saw what happened.’ He goes, ‘Yeah.’ He goes, ‘That wasn’t supposed to happen like that?’ I said, ‘No.’ I said, ‘I got basketball’d, like really bad.’ I said, ‘I’m concussed for sure. I’m for sure’ and then Dreamer came up and he was talking about it with us and Raj came to the back and I said, ‘Hey man, I know it’s a freak thing but that was way too much out there’ and he was very apologetic, very awesome and I learned afterwards that Dreamer and Ethan Page had some words with him, standing up for me and saying how it was a little overboard and it is what it is. It’s wrestling, crap happens but man, I remember driving home that night and during the drive, Dreamer and Page just calling me every hour or so and making sure I was okay… It had to have been on the floor. Specifically remember laying on the outside and going, ‘Protect me. I don’t wanna move yet.’ I was so pissed, I was so pissed. But, that was that. That was the Battle Royal.
The next pay-per-view on the docket for IMPACT is Slammiversary on July 15th and the updated lineup for that pay-per-view can be viewed here.
