Ilja Dragunov is back in NXT.
The main event of the 9/20 edition of WWE NXT was J.D. McDonagh and Tyler Bate competing to determine Bron Breakker’s next challenger for the NXT Championship.
In the end, it was J.D. emerging victorious to secure a rematch with Breakker. As they were staring each other down, former NXT UK Champion Ilja Dragunov made his return to NXT stateside.

Ilja had been sidelined with an injury that required him to relinquish the NXT UK Championship. Since he’s been gone, the announcement of NXT Europe came about which resulted in the dissolvement of the NXT UK brand. At Worlds Collide, Bron defeated Tyler Bate to unify the NXT and NXT UK belts.
The next special for NXT is Halloween Havoc. J.D. is the number one contender but Bron raised the title above his head and nodded as Dragunov and McDonagh both eyed the title.
