In mid-2020, Moose brought back the TNA World Heavyweight Championship but the title was not officially acknowledged by IMPACT Wrestling. At the start of tonight’s IMPACT on AXS, Co-Executive Vice President Scott D’Amore made Moose an official world champion of IMPACT by sanctioning the TNA Heavyweight Title.
Moose ambushed Jake Something following his match and stated that he was not leaving the ring until he got a shot at Rich Swann’s IMPACT World Title.
Moose was promised an IMPACT World Title match at the Genesis show when he took on Willie Mack. Swann said that he’d give Moose a shot if he stopped beating Willie down in their ‘I Quit’ match.

Moose will be defending the newly sanctioned TNA World Heavyweight Title in the main event of tonight’s program against Jake Something.
