Introducing our brand new title – the IMPACT Digital Media Championship! #IMPACTonAXSTV

A new title to be introduced in IMPACT.

IMPACT Wrestling is moving towards their Bound For Glory event on October 23rd and several matches have already been confirmed for the event such as Mickie James versus Deonna Purrazzo for the Knockouts Championship.

A new episode of IMPACT’s weekly show on AXS is premiering tonight at 8 PM EST and according to PWInsider, an announcement is scheduled to be made on tonight’s show regarding a new championship belt being introduced. The site noted that a tournament will begin soon to crown the first champion.

The built is going to be built around the company’s digital media and subscription service.

As of this writing, here’s the card for Bound For Glory:

  • IMPACT World Championship: Christian Cage (c) vs. Josh Alexander
  • Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match: Rich Swann, Brian Myers, TBA
  • IMPACT Knockouts Championship: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. Mickie James

Oooooh I like it! Always felt like they could use a mid card title again, making it say…a Impact Plus title instead of a Television title, I like it.

But IMPACT used to have mid-card titles (Legend/Television title, Grand Title) and those titles meant nothing.

They don’t need any more titles. They have gone a good job presenting the titles they already have with some prestige (for IMPACT standards). A new title ain’t gonna change their digital imprint as their audience has shrunk for the last several years.
