The interim TNT championship will be defended on AEW Dynamite this Wednesday in Raleigh, North Carolina.
After becoming interim champion at Battle of the Belts, Sammy Guevara was attacked by Daniel Garcia and led to Guevara proposing the match and it was made official later in the show.
The interim title was introduced after regular champion Cody Rhodes could not compete at Battle of the Belts due to medical protocols as Rhodes announced he is in quarantine with his wife Brandi.
Guevara defeated replacement Dustin Rhodes on Saturday’s special on TNT from the Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina.
