It was a decision Cargill went over in her head while she was on hiatus from AEW.

Jade Cargill launched her pro wrestling career under the All Elite Wrestling banner and became the company’s first-ever and longest-reigning TBS Champion.

After nearly three years with AEW, Cargill opted to sign with WWE. TMZ Sports caught up with Jade and she explained that the decision that was in her hands was something she thought about over the past couple of months.

No, not in general (if the plan was to always join WWE). This was something that I’ve been going back and forth in my head in the like the past couple months, you know, if this is really what I want to do and taking this leap because you never know, in wrestling, things can go left, it can go right, it can go up and down and I just took the time — the time I was home — I took the time to really register and determine what I wanted to do in this industry and taking the leap was the best thing I could do.

Shawn Michaels, Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative, spoke about Cargill during the pre-No Mercy media call. POST Wrestling’s recap of that call can be read here.

The other day it was a “no brainer” I think she’s trying to unburn some bridges just in case.

Taken strictly at face value, they are not the same question.

Was it always the plan? No.
Was is a no-brainer to sign as a free agent? Yes.

If saying jumping ship was a “no brainer” burns a bridge with Tony, that’s absolutely ridicules. Which to be fair, I don’t think is the case. Burning a bridge would be like CM Punk leaving WWE, or AEW for that matter,
