John Cena signed on the dotted line and is now challenging Roman Reigns for the Universal Title.

Universal Champion Roman Reigns was joined in the ring by Finn Balor to sign the contract for their title match at SummerSlam. As Balor was about to sign, he was ambushed from behind by Baron Corbin who was given an ‘Attitude Adjustment’ from John Cena earlier in the show.

Corbin then grabbed the contract and before he could sign it, John Cena made his way to the ring, threw Corbin into the ring post and signed the contract so that he could face Reigns for the Universal Title at SummerSlam.

Paul Heyman met with Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville backstage about the situation and both Pearce and Deville confirmed that Cena is challenging Reigns.

Cena versus Reigns is the second match added to SummerSlam on August 21st and here’s the updated card:

  • Raw Women’s Championship — Triple-Threat Match: Nikki A.S.H. (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley
  • WWE Universal Championship: Roman Reigns (c) (w/ Paul Heyman) vs. John Cena

Someone (Reigns) should make a point that Cena’s final full time run ended with Cena losing to Roman, making Cena’s current promos invalid.

Remember when HHH said when guys get called up they have plans for them :laughing::laughing:
