Waiting in the wings for Jon Moxley is CM Punk.

Headlining AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door was the singles match between Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi to crown an interim AEW World Champion. After a back and forth bout, Moxley hit the ‘Death Rider’ to put away Tanahashi and become AEW World Champion for a second* time in his career.

As Tanahashi and Moxley were about to show a sign of respect to each other, Chris Jericho and Daniel Garcia ambushed them both which led to Eddie Kingston making the save. All members of the upcoming Blood & Guts match were in the ring brawling but the last person to join the fray was Claudio Castagnoli, who defeated Zack Sabre Jr. earlier in the night.
