Josh Alexander will be out of action after revealing he suffered a torn triceps.

The IMPACT performer appeared on Busted Open Radio on SiriusXM to reveal the injury, which will require surgery, and therefore, has been forced to vacate the IMPACT Championship.

🚨🚨As announced on @BustedOpenRadio 🚨🚨@IMPACTWRESTLING has announced that @Walking_Weapon will undergo surgery to repair a triceps tear, and will relinquish his IMPACT World Championship.

Alexander is off tonight’s Sacrifice card where he was set to team with Frankie Kazarian and Rich Swann against KUSHIDA & The Motor City Machine Guns in Windsor, Ontario.

Steve Maclin has been inserted into the six-man tag to team with Kazarian and Swann on tonight’s Sacrifice card.

Alexander will also miss the upcoming WrestleMania Week events in California and next month’s Rebellion pay-per-view where he was scheduled to defend the title against Steve Maclin.

Alexander is the longest-reigning IMPACT Champion after winning the title for a second time last April.

We wish Alexander the best and as quick a recovery process as possible given the severity of the injury.

Awful news. With its rep as a solid but unremarkable promotion right now, Impact is in sore need of distinguishing features, and Alexander’s title defences have been great.

Didn’t he lose the title to Moose after he won it from Christian?

Bad luck. It felt like they were building up Maclin to win the title (bad move IMO), but now they probably have to have a transitional babyface champ like Swann or Kazarian first.
