Robinson was asked about Owens’ contract coming up.
The five-year celebration of AEW Dynamite is taking place on 10/2 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Among the matches on the card is a singles bout between Juice Robinson and Hangman Adam Page.
To promote the show and his match, Robinson appeared on SHAK Wrestling. He was asked about his friendship with Kevin Owens and Owens’ WWE contract coming up in early 2025. Robinson said he’d love to meet Owens in the ring again.
I would wrestle Kevin Owens any day. Twice on Sunday so, of course I would love to meet him again. I would love that.
Robinson jumped back into the mix of AEW when he reunited with the Bang Bang Gang (Colten Gunn, Austin Gunn & Jay White) when he returned at Double or Nothing.
Prior to that, he had been out of action since November 2023. Robinson confirmed it was an injury that shelved him as he was responding to what he’d like to accomplish over the next five years.
I think the next five years, I wanna continue to establish myself and maybe open up the eyes of the AEW audience fully. I think, you know, I hit a rough block last year with an injury and it’s kind of — I’m getting going now a little bit. But I feel like I’m just barely getting going, like hardly at all. So if I can put three, four, five years together, full power, full health… I don’t have any particular goals. Every Wednesday or Saturday when I go there, I just try to do my absolute best and have fun and then let the business come to me. That’s kind of how I feel, and I can control what I can control but, other than that, I can’t but I’m having fun and I really wanna continue having fun for the next five years.
On the topic of being out of action, Jay White has been off AEW programming. Robinson was asked about his status and here’s what he had to say:
Obviously, the thing about wrestling is sometimes you gotta step back for a little while and make sure everything’s good before you can continue on even harder. So, I think that’s where he (Jay White) is right now. He’s got to just take some time and that guy, if he’s one thing, he’s smart. He’ll know when to come back and how to come back and he’ll make an impact because that’s one of the things he’s very good at. So, yeah, we’re all patiently waiting. Biding our time, waiting on King Switch.
After the Five Year Anniversary edition of Dynamite wraps up, John Pollock and Wai Ting will be live on the POST Wrestling YouTube channel for a review of the show.
