On Saturday night in the main event of NXT TakeOver: XXX, Keith Lee was defeated by Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship. Lee became NXT Champion on the Great American Bash edition of NXT on the USA Network during-which he defeated Adam Cole.

One month following his title victory, Lee dropped the championship to Karrion Kross who debuted on NXT TV in late April. Prior to the SummerSlam main event, a video package aired promoting a Keith Lee appearance on the 8/24 edition of Monday Night RAW. NXT founder and senior producer Paul “Triple H” Levesque commented on the tweet of Keith Lee’s next appearance and confirmed that Lee is joining the Monday Night RAW roster.

Keith Lee debuted with the WWE in 2018 and in his two years in the company, he has held the North American Title, NXT Title and has had several spotlighted moments within the company such as his Royal Rumble face-off with Brock Lesnar and his performance in the 2019 5-on-5 men’s Survivor Series match.

Great to see him called up. And was expecting it after Takeover. But wish they had surprises now (look how great Roman return was)

That was fast. Especially after a debate in another thread about Lee’s star potential. Looking forward to how he does, that teaser for him was major league.

Glad to see this, though I wish he got a post mania call-up in front of an audience as they would go ballistic, but it is what it is.

I know some fans like to give WWE crap for everyone who is not made into a main event talent, and a lot of the times some wrestlers just dont have it, but IMO Lee is a sure thing as main eventer and if he doesnt get there, that’s on them. Though based on RR and SS, I think he will get a pretty strong push. Hopefully the fans don’t turn on him if Vince really gets behind him.
